of my life
Argentina:
I
was immensely happy and there was where my professional career as seer started. I had to
abandon de country in 1982, threatened to death by the totalitarian regime,
because of my pacifist membership and my support to the mothers of the Mayo
Square. All of this is reflected in the book "Por qué se fueron"
("Why they left") of
Barón, del Carríl and Gómez (Editorial Emecé, Buenos Aires, 1995). One
year before leaving Argentina, I gave a party where I gathered a group of dear
friends:
 |
 |
| From left to right, my mother, the daughter
of the owners of the house, the Wagners, who lent me their house because
it was bigger than mine, the singer Marikena Monti, and between two
friends the actress Graciela Dufau, as if trying to receive inspiration above
my head.
|
My mother, Raul Burgheroni, Marikena Monti,
and me, wearing a golden robe that I found very original until one day I
got to know Walter Mercado had been using it since many years before in
Miami - then I took
it off definitively, wearing suits instead, to my mother's great relief.

Two
photos with my dear friend Graciela Dufau, to whom I had forecasted nine months
before her award for Alejandro Doria's "La Isla" ("The
Island") at the Montreal Festival, in Canada. All of this is told in her
book "Confidencias de una
bruja" ("A witch's confidences") published by Planeta (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1995). |
In
1988 was the only time I returned to Argentina and I keep a affectionate memory
of this brief twelve-day-visit. My friends and the Argentinean press were
lavish in their warm welcome.
